Design Sense

Innovation in medicine, technology, travel and finance is creating a world in which we design for more and more kinds of experiences. Of these are experiences we cannot see, hear, touch, smell or taste. But we feel them, which means opening our minds to new ways of connecting, communicating and creating.

A distinctive aspect of the 50k approach has always been our panoramic view of our clients’ businesses and brands. By focusing on systems and solutions that help us make connections in an increasingly complex world, we have never lost sight of the fact that many perspectives usually lead to better outcomes.

So how can we change the world? Vision can do it. Design can do it. You can do it. We can do it, which is the reason for this year’s inaugural World Design Summit. Bringing together leaders across industries, the two-week-long event sought to establish a plan of action for addressing some of the world’s greatest challenges. We were fortunate to be invited to share our perspective on design thinking and its power to change the world, leveraging our experience with global brands to put forth our ideas about the truth and beauty that design speaks.

An output of the Summit, the Montreal Design Declaration was signed on Tuesday, October 24, 2017, endorsing a 10-year program to strengthen the consideration of design in all economic, cultural, environmental and social decision-making—an endeavor that is core to our vision.
